Quality in service
This quality performance is based in part of SCC's commitment to secure top quality raw material for all its manufactured products. SCC has long believed that self sufficiency in primary raw material is vital in extending the reach of quality control throughout the manufacturing process. Achieving this self-sufficiency goal was the primary aim of early development programmes.
In 1985, SCC became the first company in the GCC countries to establish its own copper rod mill producing fine-grained electrically uniform copper rod, ideally suited to cable manufacture. Similarly, in the same year, SCC established its own in-house plastics compounding facility producing high grade PVC compound for all SCC cable insulation and sheaths. An investment in associate company Midal Cables also assures supply of top quality aluminium rods. Backed by the company's own wooden reel and pallet plant, today these facilities form the basis of a unique vertically integrated manufacturing process, guaranteeing SCC quality and reliability from raw materials to finished cable products.
The importance of quality assurance has always been major criterion at SCC to ensure product reliability and long life. All routine voltage testing is at a more onerous level than that required by the same uncompromising standards.
AT SCC, Quality Assurance is an integrated part of the order execution cycle and maintained from order entry throughout the production process to testing, packing and shipping. All material and production inspection test records are held for a minimum of three years to ensure full traceability of products from raw materials stage to delivery. In addition to in-process quality control, SCC has some of the world's most advanced compliances testing facilities, including a conductor destructive test rig - the only equipment of its type in the Middle East.
